> Our house sits on a vast 13 acre wooded farmland in the small town of Phippsburg Maine. It is unique in that it was first constructed on Deering St in Bath Maine for a ship captain in 1830. When the shipyard expanded in the mid 1980's it acquired the houses on Deering St and had all 7 moved to new locations. Therefore, our house was dismantled; moved to it's current site; and rebuilt on a new foundation. What that gave us when we moved our family in, in 2001, was a great combination of old and new. Old 19th century architecture (wide pine board floors and detailed tin ceilings). New electrical wiring, plumbing, sheet rock walls and re-built fireplaces (all working). >>> >>> The layout of the house is terrific for our family. Be it nerf wars or hide & seek, the front and back stair wells make great fun. At the same time our home offers many nooks for seclusion and a good book. >>> Outdoors we enjoy so many activities with the in-ground pool and overlooking deck in the summer and bonfires by the skating pond and sledding hill in the winter. The fields and woods offer us much adventure during all seasons. Our favorite is cross country skiing. > > We have Access to the great Popham beach state park, countless hiking trails & boat moorings are available to homeowners. The house is 7 miles from the highway, less then 5 miles to the fabulous Sebasco harbor resort & golf club as well as several restaurants. Taxes are very reasonable and a brand new high school opens soon! Entertaining and hosting events at our home is a year-around enjoyment. For twenty years now the family Thanksgiving for 40 plus is at our house with plenty of room to spread out, which is a good thing for all families. Christmas parties for a 100 is a common ritual with the house decorated to the hilt inside and out. We love sharing the house with others (The owners speak better than we can.)
