A Maine native originally from the Bangor area, Erica Brooks has called Bar Harbor home since 2006. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Economics from Emmanuel College in Boston, Erica headed west to Fort Collins, Colorado, where she began working in property management and real estate sales. With a lifelong interest in sales and design, a background in hospitality, and a natural ability to connect with people, real estate quickly became the perfect fit.

Missing the ocean and rugged beauty of her home state, Erica returned to Maine in 2006 and joined Swan Agency Real Estate, initially working within the company’s commercial and lodging divisions. She earned her Maine real estate license later that year and has been helping clients navigate the Mount Desert Island and greater Hancock County markets ever since.

Today, Erica is a full-time Broker with Swan Agency at Portside Real Estate Group, representing buyers and sellers across a diverse range of residential, waterfront, land, investment, commercial, and hospitality properties. With nearly two decades of experience in the local market, she brings an extensive knowledge of Mount Desert Island and the surrounding communities to every transaction. As the owner and manager of her own investment properties, Erica also offers a practical perspective when working with clients purchasing or selling investment and income-producing real estate.

Erica’s approach is personal, straightforward, and highly hands-on. She believes successful real estate is about more than simply buying or selling property—it’s about understanding her clients, recognizing opportunities, solving problems, and helping people make smart decisions about places and communities she genuinely knows and loves. Her extensive local network, market knowledge, creative marketing, and strong negotiating skills have made her a consistent top producer throughout her career.

She was named the Acadia Council REALTOR® of the Year in 2016 by her peers and has also been featured as a local real estate expert on HGTV’s Island Life.

Deeply invested in the community she serves, Erica has held numerous leadership and volunteer roles over the years. She has served on the Bar Harbor Planning Board and other Town committees, as President of the Acadia Council of REALTORS®, and remains active within the Maine REALTOR® community, including service on the Maine Association of REALTORS® Legislative Committee. She has also served with local nonprofit organizations including Island Housing Trust. For Erica, being involved in the community is a natural extension of her work—understanding the issues, people, and places that shape the future of Mount Desert Island is an important part of being a local real estate professional.

When she isn’t working, Erica is usually taking advantage of everything that makes this part of Maine special—hiking and exploring Acadia National Park, golfing at Kebo Valley, gardening, spending time with family and friends, tackling a home project, or finding a quiet spot along the coast to catch the sunset.

For Erica, real estate has always been about more than property. It’s about people, place, and helping clients find their own connection to a part of Maine she is proud to call home.
