Monique and Jamie both came to Portside as individual agents after working as buyers agents on a large team at their previous brokerage. After settling into Portside they decided to join forces and form their own team and focused on building their brand with Portside! The Violette Sparta Team was born and is quickly becoming a rising star, with Monique's background in staging and love for interior design and Jamie's passion for living and working in the wonderful state of Maine, these two go above and beyond for their buyers and sellers. Why did you decide to become an agent? What’s your favorite thing about your job?
Monique: "Home" is very important to me personally and I love helping clients realize their dream of purchasing, building, or selling. I also love interior design and the process of making a house feel like a home.
Jamie: From a very young age I've wanted to be in real estate. It allows me to live and work in my home state of Maine while forming new relationships with buyers and sellers. It also provides the perfect work/life balance for me on the professional and personal levels.
How has your business grown at Portside since you joined?
We first joined Portside as Independent Agents and decided to join forces as a Team. Portside has the marketing tools and support staff to help get our brand going. The supportive environment allows us to have that critical work/life balance that we strive for while making sure our customer service level remains at the highest level possible.
How would you describe the Portside community? How would you describe the “feel” and culture at Portside?
The Portside community is a collaborative and passionate, network of professionals that supports each other and that truly loves real estate and doing good deeds for those in need. That is a major part of Portside's mission and it aligns perfectly with our Team values and goals. People helping people is what it's all about!
Are you a part of Portside’s programs (Next Gen, 1% for Maine®, Peer to Peer, etc), and how does this benefit you?
The 1% for Maine is a source of pride for us as we're both originally from Maine and feel so fortunate to call this home. We can discuss with our clients that our company is all about giving back in ways that directly affect our community and that we are giving back with each and every transaction throughout the year. It's not just a one-time donation but as we develop and increase our business, the ability to give back grows as well.
What’s your favorite Portside memory?
Working together with other Portsiders on the Habitat for Humanity house in Freeport in the summer of 2022. Knowing that we were contributing to such a great cause was gratifying and humbling. Owning a home provides such a powerful foundation for a growing family, we felt such gratitude for being a part of their amazing journey.
