Portside's popular Autumn Equinox at Maine Audubon event returns for the 6th year on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at the Maine Audubon's Gilsland Farm campus in Falmouth. Sticking to tradition, attendees will enjoy of night food trucks, local craft beer + wine, lawn games, and live music! Portsiders are crossing or fingers and toes that there will be no rain in the forecast this year and attendees will not have to dawn their rain boots!
The 2022 Autumn Equinox, despite the rain still raised well over $15,000 for the Maine Audubon, a number we hope to smash out of the park at this year's event. Funds raised from the 2022 Autumn Equinox went toward expanding Audubon's diversity efforts through Education to inspire the next generation of environmental advocates, prioritize equity and inclusion in programming decisions and allocations, provide resources to increase environmental literacy, and embrace and expand its role as Maine's bird and birding lead through more accessible programming. All proceeds raised this year at the 2023 event will be used in the same capacity to continue making environmental education and literacy available to all.
