Spring Happenings From Seacoast To Midcoast!

Want to get out of the house this month? We have found some wonderful events in your area to keep you busy and connected to your communities. Keep reading for opportunities for family days out, date nights, and more!


Midcoast Events:

Opening Reception for Wiscasset Public Schools Student Art Show - Friday, April 12 | 5pm-7pm

View art work by local Wiscasset students, grades K-12, with art work by their teachers also on view. Enjoy student vision and accomplishment and multigenerational interpretations of Maine’s natural beauty during this special evening celebration.

CMCA ArtLab April Vacation Week - Monday- Thursday, April 15-18 | 10am-12pm (Drop ins)

Join April Vacation ArtLabs with teaching artist Tara Morin, held Monday-Thursday mornings during the vacation week. Each day, participants will explore the idea of “letting the world in” using a different material. Artists will explore both two and three-dimensional processes.

Seasonal Awareness Workshop - Saturday, April 27 | 9am-4pm

Spend the day in the woods and fields learning to move through the awakening wilds with increased safety and confidence.


Cumberland County Events:

Full Moon Hike - Tuesday, April 23rd | 6pm-10pm

Experience breathtaking views of the Full Moon and the stars. During this adventure, you'll trek along the scenic Pineland Farms trails, immerse yourself in nature, discover the history of Pineland Farms, explore available programs, and more. After the hike, unwind by one of the fire pits and indulge in a delicious treat!

Make Your Own Bezel Ring or Pendant Workshop - Saturday, April 27 | 1:30pm-7:30pm

Take an exciting journey through the fundamentals of the metals studio with this metalsmithing workshop! Learn the basics of tools, safety, soldering, forming, and stone setting as you create your unique bezel ring or pendant. Beginners are welcome; a $30 materials fee will provide all the supplies needed to complete the project. Get creative and craft a beautiful bezel ring or pendant.

Portland 10 Miler Road Race - Sunday, April 28th | 8am start

The Portland 10 Miler returns on Sunday, April 28th for its sixth running. This annual spring race is features a coastal course that covers ten-miles of Portland’s most recognizable roads and paths along Back Cove, Munjoy Hill and the Eastern Promenade.


York County Events:

The Ogunquit Museum of American Art opens for the 2024 Season - Friday, April 12 | 10am-4pm

The Ogunquit Museum of American Art (OMAA) has announced its 2024 exhibition schedule for the upcoming season, which begins on Friday, April 12 and runs through Sunday, November 17, 2024.

2024 Annual Poetry Bash - Sunday, April 14 | 2pm

Bring a poem to read that you have written, share a favorite poem by another author, or just hunker down and listen. Inaugurated in April 1996, National Poetry Month brings together publishers, booksellers, literary organizations, libraries, schools, and poets around the country to celebrate poetry and its vital place in American culture. Be part of the celebration! Light refreshments will be served.

The Saltwater Mountain Woman Retreat - Friday, April 19-21

An immersive, empowering and transformative women’s weekend retreat on the beautiful coast of Maine. The focus is on CONNECTION – with ourselves and other women, EDUCATION – how cold-water dipping supports midlife transitions, and INTEGRATION – through experiential and guided exercises.


Seacoast Events:

Restaurant Week - April 18-27

This special culinary affair will not disappoint. Just be sure to make a reservation when you can, as space fills up quickly during the Seacoast’s 10-day culinary event of the season. Find local special offers from area hotels, shops, and attractions nearby, and browse through some participating restaurants.

Nature@Nite - Seacoast Science Center Friday, April 19 | 4-6pm

Offered one Friday per month—FREE of charge—join for fun, relaxed, family-friendly evenings hosted by SSC and community partners. These evenings feature S.T.E.A.M. activities, lit-up tanks and exhibits, and nature-based programs.

Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals! - Saturday, April 20 | 9am

The Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals is The Seacoast Science Center's largest annual fundraising event to benefit the Marine Mammal Rescue program. What better way to support SSC’s wildlife conservation and educational outreach work than taking part in our 5K through our beautiful seaside Odiorne Point State Park location!
