Giving Back Across Maine + New Hampshire: 1% Back Grant Highlights
Portside’s 1% Back initiative is delighted to highlight the incredible organizations receiving funding this year. These grants support projects that fight food insecurity, create safe spaces for youth, and build stronger communities across Maine and New Hampshire.
Within York County, Portside was able to support several nonprofit organizations making a meaningful impact across our communities. Take a look at how these incredible organizations are creating opportunity, access, and support locally.
York County Community Action Corporation (YCCAC) works to ensure that all people in York County have the opportunity to thrive by connecting individuals and families with essential resources and services. With funding, YCCAC will help low- to moderate-income homeowners complete critical home repairs and weatherization upgrades that reduce living costs and support long-term homeownership. By improving housing stability and lowering energy expenses, these efforts help families maintain safe, secure homes while strengthening communities across York County. Continuum Arts Collective (CAC) works to provide PK–12 students across Maine and New Hampshire with equitable access to the materials, instruction, and experiences they need to flourish as artists and musicians. Through programs that offer instruments, art supplies, lessons, and creative opportunities, CAC helps young creators develop their skills and confidence. By supporting students from all backgrounds and experience levels, the organization fosters creativity, self-expression, and a vibrant arts community for the next generation.
