Overview
The town of Windham is the gateway to the Lakes Region and is located only minutes from Portland. Historically, Windham was settled by mostly farmers who came here in the middle of the 1700s. The agricultural lifestyle continued through most of the town’s history until the industrial age. Today, Windham is a thriving Maine town with plenty of shops, restaurants, and an array of housing from lakeside camps to residential neighborhoods. Windham is a recreational center with mini-golf, go-carts, snow tubing, and an IMAX movie theatre for family fun along the famous Route 302. Located on Sebago Lake and two rivers, the Pleasant River and the Presumpscot River - Windham is a great home for boaters and beach lovers.
