Portside’s 1% for Maine initiative is focused on education during quarter 2, which is why our volunteer committee has chosen to work with Camp Susan Curtis. Camp Susan Curtis’s mission is to provide a transformative camp experience that nurtures self-confidence, and a sense of belonging in Maine for children facing economic hardship. They primarily focus on teaching character building skills, healthy lifestyle habits, positive recreational activities and socialization. Portsiders are excited to be able to not only support their mission but to give back by volunteering their time to this educational organization.
Camp Susan Curtis is dedicated to making sure that all Maine children feel valued and have the opportunity to thrive. Their programming is made for kids from 4th grade through 7th grade as well as additional programs for teens and young adults.
Portsiders, gave 1% More for Camp Susan Curtis on Friday, June 4th by volunteering their time to the camp! To learn more about Camp Susan Curtis and how you can get involved visit their website and Facebook.
